“It is the Spirit who gives life; the flesh profits nothing. The words that I speak to you are spirit, and they are life.” — John 6:63
The Bible is not just a book; it is life itself. Every word is intentional, divinely inspired, and meant to guide us into a deeper relationship with God. In 2025 and beyond, our call remains clear: to stay focused on God until His nature, character, and promises become the reality we live and operate in (Isaiah 26:3).
Why Was the Bible Written?
For Living “All Scripture is given by inspiration of God, and is profitable for doctrine, for reproof, for correction, for instruction in righteousness.” — 1 Timothy 3:16-17
The Bible equips us for every good work, ensuring that we are thoroughly prepared for the journey of faith.
As a Testimony “That which we have seen and heard we declare to you, that you also may have fellowship with us.” — 1 John 1:3
The Scriptures bear witness to God's work in history and in our lives today, inviting us into a personal and communal relationship with Him.
As a Mirror “But he who looks into the perfect law of liberty and continues in it…this one will be blessed in what he does.” — James 1:25
The Word of God reflects who we are and who we are called to be, shaping us into the image of Christ.
Interacting with the Bible
For Knowledge – The foundation of our faith is rooted in knowing God's Word.
For Spiritual Guidance – “Your word is a lamp to my feet and a light to my path.” — Psalm 119:105
For Personal Growth & Transformation – “Be transformed by the renewing of your mind.” — Romans 12:2
The Bible as a Living Voice
“For the word of God is alive and powerful. It is sharper than the sharpest two-edged sword.” — Hebrews 4:12
The Bible is not just an ancient text; it is a living and active voice speaking into our daily lives. Through parables, stories, and divine revelation, God teaches us how to navigate challenges and experience His power.
Understanding the Deeper Meaning
Jesus said, “The words that I speak to you are spirit, and they are life.” (John 6:63). Understanding Scripture requires the guidance of the Holy Spirit (John 16:12-15). When we invite Him into our study, the Word becomes more than words—it becomes a transformational force.
The Why Question
Rather than reading the Bible passively, ask, Why did God inspire this passage? When we seek deeper understanding, we gain wisdom, strength, and direction.
Now What?
Make Bible reading an intentional act. It is life to you. In 2025 and beyond, let us anchor ourselves in God's Word, allowing it to transform us, guide us, and keep us in perfect peace.
Lord, help us to stay rooted in Your Word, seeing it as our daily bread, our mirror, and our guide. May it transform us into Your image, and may we live in the fullness of Your promises. Amen.
